1. Read a book in Travelers.

Today, I´m going to show you the answers to the activities you´ve been doing during this week. Correct them from your notebook as we usually do in the classroom.

3. Answers to the activity 2 on page 59. 

a) Not many! Queen Elizabeth wanted to set a good example for her subjects. So she had one bath a month! She thought one bath was enough!

b) When women wanted to improve their skin, they put a little dog´s urine on it. How disgusting!

c) Because people often only had a few teeth!Bad teeth were very common because of poor diets.

d) Many people went to the theatre. They also played tennis and a violent kind of football using a pig´s bladder for a ball.

e) By boat! They were like today´s taxis, and there were many boats on the River Thames. The roads were terrible because there was a lot of mud in the streets. They were often blocked by animals, too. 

f) No, they didn´t drink much water at all! It was too dirty. Most of the time, people drank weak beer!

g) Yes, there was a lot of rubbish! The streets smelt terrible, too! That´s because there weren´t any toilets or bathrooms. People had to use a chamber pot. They emptied these pots out of their windows.
